Every equine veterinarian has patients that seem like members of the
practice family. Some are quirky, some have funny habits, and some are
just loveable. When those ponies reach the end of their days, whether due
to illness, injury, or just old age, it is a sad event for those that have taken
care of them, sometimes since birth.
We also have those special clients that have been loyal through thick
and thin, that will follow instructions to the letter and heap praises on us
at every turn. When they lose a horse that too saddens us.
As my practice matures (nice way to say I'm getting old) these sad
occurrences are more often and have caused me to reflect on the horses
and folks that have touched my life. This has led me to consider an
appropriate way to acknowledge them. What better way than to donate to
the TEVA Foundation.
