Some of these benefits include veterinary medical references, practice management tools, and enhanced organization. Each installment in this series will briefly highlight one mobile app and its use in the veterinary medical field. Buffer One of the best ways to reach current and future clients is through consistent social media marketing. However, managing multiple social media accounts, like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, can be time consuming and overwhelming. An effective social media campaign requires three to five posts per week, which is difficult to maintain without planning ahead. This is where tools like Buffer, a social media management platform, can help. A key feature of this mobile app is that it allows users to plan, schedule, and share content to multiple social media platforms. For example, busy veterinarians can use Buffer once monthly to schedule a month of social media posts across multiple platforms, creating a consistent online presence without the daily time consumption. In addition, multiple "team members" can be created and each can be assigned an access level. This allows the practice owner, the Buffer administrator, to delegate the social media role to an employee while still being able to approve all content before it is posted online. The Buffer app offers a free basic plan and is available for both Apple and Android users. Other similar mobile applications include Hootsuite and Sprout.
