www.texasequineva.com • 5 MESSAGE FROM THE Point Dear Colleagues, I think we can all agree that 2020 has thus far proven to be anything but normal! As the summer months begin, we are all still living through historic times of the coronavirus pandemic and the effects it has caused on each of our lives, families, and practices. I imagine we all may have drastically changed the way we practice by implementing precautions such as curbside drop-off, social distancing at farms, face masks, dealing with shortages of several critical supplies, and using or making whatever kind of hand sanitizer we could find. But as "essential" practices, we adapted, made it work and continued to be present for the health of our patients. I commend TEVA for continuing to provide up to date information and resources for our membership during this public health crisis. Collectively, we made the tough decision to postpone our Summer CE Symposium this year. HOWEVER… Dr. Janicek's program will still be held in 2021, and we will be back at Horseshoe Bay for one more year! Originally, our time at Horseshoe Bay was going to end this year and we would be moving to the Worthington in Fort Worth for 2021. It was decided to push everything back a year, so please mark your calendars for August 5–7, 2021, at Horseshoe Bay. It will be good to see everyone! Speaking of CE, hats off to Dr. Bessire, Sara and Blaine, along with sponsors Sound, BI, and Platinum for putting on a really successful Boutique Zoom Conference with Dr. Steve Reed. Dr. Reed was wonderful and very informative with lots of great cases and videos that worked perfectly through the Zoom platform. We had 95 registrants for the meeting and gained 61 new TEVA members — way to go TEVA! I would like to express what an honor it has been to serve as your TEVA president this year. TEVA is a really wonderful organization to be a part of, not only for the world class continuing education but also for the collegiality and lifelong friendships made. I would like to welcome the two new board of directors, Dr. Britt Conklin and Dr. Shem Oliver as well as our newly elected Vice President, Dr. Piper Norton. We are excited about this new leadership and I encourage each and every one of you to continue to be involved and recruit new members. Hopefully through all of the recent changes, we have taken the time to slow down, spend more time with family, call loved ones more often, spend more time on hobbies and realize that while times are stressful, we have a lot to be thankful for. I truly wish everyone happiness and good health in the coming months, along with plenty of A/C! See you in 2021. All my best, JoLy Joyce, DVM, DACVS PRESIDENT
